The commander gave permission to leave the tank for a break but one soldier chose to stay to recite psalm 30 because he had promised his father he would say daily psalms. "It's incredible to see how people live here by sheer miracles," Ashkelon Regional Council chairman Yair Farjoun told Arutz Sheva news. "Out of 160 rockets, 60 fell in our territory--that's a serious blitz," he said referring to the number of rockets fired in one day. Daniel Fish, an IDF soldier critically injured in a booby trapped house in Gaza, is making an astounding recovery that many are calling a miracle. Fish was evacuated to Be'er Sheva's Soroka Medical Center in a state of deep shock after he sustained serious injuries to his legs and right hand in a late July attack which killed three friends. The family of wounded soldier Shachar Shalev asked the Israeli public to donate blood for the IDF sergeant. The response was so immediate and overwhelming that after three hours Rambam Medical Center in Haifa requested that people stop donating, as they had all the donations needed.
